Preparation Print-making

As I've made the decision to experiment with print-making, I have drawn out and shaded in two templates so far (hopefully I'll be able to get another one completed before Tuesday). The above is based on the use of geometric shapes and is inspired by Mondrian's piece from the Tate Modern. I admired how the Composition B piece demonstrated inaccuracy which oddly conflicted with the extreme geometric forms. Therefore, I plotted randomly multiple simple shapes, some overlapping with various compositions as well as areas that contrast with the white. To me, it's important to include tone especially when considering heat press and such because you're always guaranteed a successful outcome. The contrast is essential. I'm going to continue adding extra tone in areas that are in desperate need for it.

Below is another template inspired by Woolnough's cabbage piece this time. I'm really loving the organic structure and would be interesting to combine with the geometric forms above since they're on opposite ends of the scale. I do want to experiment with marbling onto paper in particular because I feel that this will present a similar effect to what the pattern below looks like.
