Wire Sculptures

Wire wasn't and still isn't much up there with one of my favourable mediums but it was interesting to watch myself gradually build up the form of a shell and to experiment with something different. Producing the form was certainly my main intention as I begun to work with the wire so from then on, I would have been able to build from the overall frame. Tightly wrapping the wires around each other was a bit of a challenge and my hands began to ache half way through. For someone who cannot stand working with three dimensional forms, I feel I did a fairly decent job at achieving a somewhat complicated shell shape.

If I were to develop it further, I definitely would apply more fine wires within the frame to produce a stronger and much bold structure and to also emphasize the fine repeated lines depicted on the surface of the shell. Perhaps bending the wires on the surface outwards to create more of a three-dimensional form and round effect of the shell would be a successful solution also.
