Lucian Freud

To creatively present my double A3 page of research on Lucian Freud, I used pencil to recreate one of his pieces. Through my annotation I had assumed that the animal depicted in the piece had passed away due to the compositions the artist has chosen. For instance, the tail lays between the two back legs and the eyes appear tightly shut. Therefore, a part of me felt a bit of sympathy when drawing my recreation, especially with not knowing the full meaning and story behind it.

I still do intend to continue developing the sketch, it was only last night that I decided to sketch away so this was what I was able to come up with so far. I'm certainly going to edit parts of the facial features of the animal, particularly the nose. As of right now, it seems to be too sharp and pointed, giving it an unnatural look. I would like to apply more tone in some parts.
